The cottage is set in 27 acres of farmland in a peaceful valley location, surrounded by countryside. It is conveniently located 1 mile from Llansteffan village & beach and 6 miles from Carmarthen. It is in a great location to explore mid and South Wales and Pembrokeshire. There is a great Boat Club within walking distance that provides training and hire of equipment for that active holiday. The Coach House is within easy reach of all major tourist attractions in this area.
web: www.ablecottages.com The Coach Houe is situated on 27 acres at Dolau Farm which is nestled in a beautiful and tranquil valley, surrounded by fields. It is not uncommon at the right time of the year to see lambs being born in the fields and Buzzards and Red Kites flying over head. All guests are free to wander aimlessly round the fields enjoying the wild life, wild flowers and the fantastic views.
There is one field which we call the playing field, it is suitable for foootball, rounders and general fun there is also a bar-b-q area and seating for those barmy summer evenings. If you are unfortunate and it is wet on your stay we now have the luxury of a games and laundry room. The games room has a dart board, table tennis table, pool table, Tv with freeview and a stereo.
There are also 4 stables which are available for horse owners to bring there own horses to enjoy the local bridle paths and ride on the beach. Livery is on a DIY basis, but we can buy in any foods etc as required.

The area surrounding Dolau Farm has plenty of footpaths and bridleways, and quiet lanes.
The nearest village is approximately 1 mile,Llansteffan, this is an old fashioned picturesque sea side village, totally unspoilt by tourism....as yet. There is a historic church and castle which fantastic views over the estuary.There are 2 pubs, 1 restaurant, a post office and a corner shop. Not forgetting the take away fish and chip van on the beach. Within walking distance of the cottage is Towy Boat Club which accepts short term memebrship at £10 per week, which enables you to use there facilities and slip way for your own boats, jet ski or canoes. They also hire out toppers and wayfarers on a daily/weekly rate. There is plenty of storage available at Dolau for Boats, canoes, jet skis and bicycles.
Looking further afield, the closest town is Carmarthen which is approximately 6 miles. This boasts a traditional farmers market every Wednesday and Saturday. There is a good range of shops here and it is a pleasant, no rush, experience to shop. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, a cinema/theatre, a couple of clubs,leisure centre and museums. Much to do on those rainy days. There are numerous local attractions from beaches, castles, churches, gardens, coal mines, leisure parks, country parks, paint balling, quad biking you name it the list is endless. The railway station is in town and connects to the rest of Wales, great to explore further afield.
The Coach house itself, has been recently renovated to an exceedingly high standard. It orginates from the 1890's and has just been converted this year to a holiday cottage.
It is layed out on two floors, the ground floor is open plan and very airy, it has a fully equiped kitchen (cooker, fridge,freezer, microwave, dishwasher etc) a dining table that seats 6, a double bed settee, a two seater settee and 3 comfortable chairs. For entertainment there is a tv, dvd player, freeview, cd player and scrabble!!
There is a downstairs toilet/washroom.
Upstairs we have a roomy landing with sky lights and a book case, with books and a few games.
The master bedroom is a double aspect room, with high ceilings, it has a double bed, with 2 bedside cabinets with bedside lamps and clock radio, a dressing table and mirror with a hair dryer and a wardrobe.
The second bedroom is also double aspect and has 2 single beds, bedside tables with a clock radio and a wardrobe.
The bathroom is light and airy with a sky light window, there is a full size bath, with shower, sink and toilet.
Towels and linen are provided, if any extra is required it will be available upon request. Dog towels are also available upon request.
For the winter months there is central heating with a thermostat on each radiator and hot water is on demand all year round.
