Ty Mawr, an a la carte restaurant by the River Cothi and the Forest Arms pub for bar meals, are both within a 5 minute walk as is the village shop and a riverside walk – mountain bikes can also be hired from the local guest house.
Salmon and sea trout fishing on the Cothi (in season) can be arranged with the owners who live next door in Brechfa House.
There are country and forest walks and horse riding nearby and within a short drive is Aberglasney House and Gardens, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Dinefwr House and stunning Carreg Cnnan Castle perched on its crag.
Lots to see and do – relive the age of steam with a ride on the Gwili Railway, visit the Dolaucouthi Roman Glod Mines, Laugharne and Dylan Thomas Boathouse and the longest beach in Wales – Cefn Sidan, 7 miles of golden sands. For fun family days out there is Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm and Tenby in south Pembrokeshire all within an hours drive.
