The hostel of a former inn built in 1789 has been tastefully refurbished and retains some of its original features. A feature of the hostel ground is the new conservation garden along with bird feeders, nest boxes and habitat piles to attract wildlife and make an excellent area for bird watching.
YHA Llanddeusant, a former Inn, has retained some of its original features and is adjacent to a 14th century church. This Youth hostel has the most wonderfull rural setting on the Western side of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in one of the least developed areas. The hostel overlooks the magical Sawdee Valley leading up to the legendary Llyn Y Fan glacial lake and the heights of the Carmarthen Fans, provides one of the most spectacular areas for Walkers, cyclists and people wanting a quiet break. There is a selection of walking routes available, either long distance energetic walks or short strolls, also guided walks can be arranged if needed.
