Church Lane, , Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, SA31 1LH
Oriel Myrddin is situated in Carmarthen's beautiful Old Art College, just a stone's throw from St. Peter's Church. This fine Victorian building has been home to Oriel Myrddin since 1991. The gallery's aim is to bring exciting, high quality, contemporary art to Carmarthen and West Wales.
There are two elements to the craft displays at Oriel Myrddin, which have been selected by the Crafts Council for quality. On the one hand, contemporary craft and design are evident in the ever-changing exhibition programme. But there is also a wide range of craft available for purchase in the retail area, where browsers are welcome; the high quality is not always reflected in the price, and Oriel Myrddin is a source of attractive and memorable gifts; gift vouchers are also sold
As well as providing a visual feast, Oriel Myrddin offers a range of educational and social events. There are regular workshops for children and adults in many different art and craft activities, including lectures given by craftspeople who are exhibiting at the gallery. Regular afternoon art classes are held in the studio room upstairs, and this space is also available for hire.
