We are bounded by two rivers on our 14 Acres of land, and now have 2 lakes on which to fish for Brown and Rainbow Trout. Ideal base for touring South and West Wales. Come for a peaceful break to our 18th Century former Millers stone cottage in Carmarthenshire South West Wales. Set in 14 Acres and bounded by the Afon Cywyn and Nant Cynnen where small native Brown & Sea Trout will be seen. There is abundant wild life - 18 different types of birds have been watched including Red kites.
We have a large Patio on which to sit and view one of our lakes and see the visiting wildlife.
Why not take a walk around the lakes before eating your choice of cooked breakfast or a lighter menu of yoghurt and fresh fruit. Toast with home made preserves. Cereals and fruit juice always available. There is also a view of the lake from the dining room.
There is a guest's lounge where an open fire may be lit when needed. This room has excellent furniture, Coloured television and video.
Our bedrooms have very comfortable beds and excellent furnishings.
1 room is a twin en-suite with excellent fittings. 1 room is a twin with hand basin plus own separate bathroom, newly fitted to a very high standard. Bathrobes supplied. Both rooms have tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, and colour t.v. With views over the field and lake.
We are in an ideal situation for visiting South & West Wales, Countryside or Coast. There are Aberglasney and the National Botanic Gardens just a short distance away. Other places of interest would be Cenarth Falls where you may be lucky to see the fish leaping to swim up river to spawn. There are many castles to visit, one having the only Tidal Mill left in the country. Local crafts within the vicinity are glass blowing, cheese making, chocolate factory and potteries. Pendine, Pembrey, Laugharne - home of the late Dylan Thomas and Llansteffan near by. Walkers and Cyclists are most welcome. Breathtaking coastal walks or hill walking on Brecon Beacons and Preseli hills.
En route to Fishguard and Pembrokeshire Ferries.
There is an easy route to Trinity college for those visiting students.
Fly fishing is allowed on the lakes for Brown & Rainbow Trout(Prices on request). Freezer use for those staying for B & B. Please ensure you have Environment Agency Fishing Licence. Three very good Inn / Restaurants are within 10 mins by car. Ample off road parking. There are several routes to reach Ricketts Mill, please ask for directions.
