This 19th century stone barn has been newly converted to a high standard to offer bright and airy accommodation for 5 (1 x double and 1 x triple bedrooms) in a farmyard setting overlooking the farm’s own fields and views of the rolling countryside..
The oldest parts of Capel Bach were built in the 18th century, and has in the past few years been renovated and extended. The next project was to convert the barn now known as Red Kite Cottage.
The access to the cottage is from the lower entrance to Capel Bach where a private fenced, gated and gravelled area provides ample parking for several cars. From here you access an enclosed raised patio area, with seating and large table for outdoor dining.
The main doors to the cottage are the french doors that lead from the patio. Please see our pictures of the cottage in the menu on the left, the inside being furnished for comfort and style, with oil fired central heating for your comfort.
Red Kite Cottage is located just 1 mile from the A485 Carmarthen to Lampeter road on the outskirts of the village
of Peniel.
Peniel is 3 miles from the centre of the local shopping town of Carmarthen. It is the oldest town in Wales and dates
back to Roman times, and boasts many a tale about Merlin the wizard. It lies on the banks of the River Towy, home
to the Coracle fishermen, and its path can be followed upstream all the way to its source above Llandovery right
down to the sea at Llanstephan.
Carmarthen offers a mixture of the usual brand name stores and supermarkets together with an eclectic mix of
small retailers selling craft & local made products,a wealth of local grown produce and a traditional indoor
market. When it comes to mealtime the town and surrounding villages literally cater for everyone’s tastes enabling
you to chose from light freshly made snacks, ethnic cuisine takeaways and restaurants, bar meals and home
prepared pub meals.
